Ethical, considered advice so you can enjoy your life – your way
We start by asking questions, not by pushing products
If there’s one thing you should know about us, it’s that we ask a lot of questions. We want to understand the full picture before we even start thinking about what superannuation, insurance or investment products might be the right fit for you. We go beyond just your income, assets and debts to find out about your hopes, dreams and ambitions, as well as any concerns or worries.
Transparent, up-front fee structure
Our fees are based on the service we provide, not the financial products we recommend, or the assets we manage for you. This means our ongoing relationship is unencumbered by potential conflicts of interest, or by unexpected charges. There’s no hourly rate, and no fees for picking up the phone and asking us questions because we want our partnership to be much more than a once-a-year review.
A professional, experienced and approachable team focused on you
Jason McLaren
PRINCIPAL & SENIOR FINANCIAL PLANNER
Jason has over two decades’ experience in the Financial Services industry. Prior to founding Flow Financial, he held senior roles in well-known accounting and superannuation practices, including Senior Manager at one of the world’s largest accounting and advisory organisations, and Head of SMSF Strategy at a leading Brisbane-based Chartered Accountants firm.
A fully accredited Financial Planner, SMSF Specialist Adviser and Tax Agent, Jason holds dual Masters qualifications in Professional Accounting and Applied Finance, a Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning, and an Advanced Diploma in Financial Services (Superannuation).
But don’t let this list of achievements overwhelm you. He’s also one of the most personable guys you’ll ever meet, a down-to-earth family man, and loves nothing more than sailing the waters of Moreton Bay.
“The most rewarding thing for us is seeing our clients take a deep breath, knowing they’ve taken a big step towards a better future.”
Rachel Mackie
OFFICE MANAGER
Rachel brings a unique set of skills and experience to her role as Office Manager at Flow Financial. A qualified Social Worker with a Bachelor of Human Services (Distinction) under her belt, Rachel spent many years working in roles in not-for profit organisations. Her focus was on helping disadvantaged members of the wider community improve their well-being in areas including housing, homelessness, mental health, youth and aged care.
Rachel applies the same community-minded ethos to the very foundation of Flow Financial, guiding our business’ growth and our underlying values. In addition to her Social Work experience, she has held administrative and accounting roles in small and large firms, making her perfectly equipped to ensure the smooth running of Flow’s day-to-day operations.
An active and proud mother of two, she has been known to refer to herself as ‘Minister of War and Finance’ (both at work and at home), and she may have a small obsession with swim-up bars.
“I love seeing how so many other factors of our clients’ lives improve once their financial plan is sorted.”
